Six groups.

- 04–07 Little Tigers Fun, challenging classes that build balance, focus and listening.
- 08–12 Juniors More depth and more partner work, and learning to lead as well as follow.
- 13–19 Teens Demanding, fast-paced training, with something new in every class.
- 20–29 Adults Beginners welcome. Fitness, self defence and a syllabus with depth.
- 30–49 Adults Train for yourself, or enquire for the whole family.
- 50–75+ Adults Never too late to start. A lifelong pursuit, at your own pace.
01What makes us different
A club, not
an expansion plan
- 01
Quality instruction at the right price
Prices vary with age, family size and what you need, so we would rather talk it through than publish a single figure. Uniforms and gear cost members less than shop prices.
- 02
Progress that is actually monitored
Students are watched and measured as they go, not left to work out on their own whether they are improving.
- 03
Character comes before trophies
WSKF Australia is an organisation for the development of traditional Shotokan karate-do, personal etiquette and good character, taught through respect, self control and perseverance.
- 04
Passionate about karate
WSKF Australia is run by people who are passionate about karate, their standard of training and the success of their members. Fundraising supports members and competitors at local, national and international events.
03On the mat
Not just strikes
Timing, distance and control, worked slowly with a partner before it is worked at speed. Filmed in a WSKF Australia class.

More than
a class
Gradings, competitions, fundraising and trips overseas. Sponsorships, donations and fundraising go to supporting members and competitors at local, national and international events.
Is the first class free?
At most of our clubs the first class is free with no obligation to join. It is not the same at every club, so check with the club you plan to visit or ask in your enquiry.
Do I have to sign a 12 month contract?
No. There are no 12 month contracts.
Are instructors checked to work with children?
Instructors are Working With Children approved, and WSKF Australia is Kidsport approved.
What does it cost?
Fees vary with age, how many people in the family are training and what you need, and there are several discounts. We would rather talk it through with you than quote a single figure that will not fit your situation.
Once you are a member, uniforms and protective gear cost less than shop prices.
What age can my child start?
Little Tigers takes students from four years old. From there the groups run through Juniors, Teens and three adult groups up to 75 and over.
Can I train if I am not in Perth?
Yes. There are WSKF clubs in Western Australia, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales, and the federation runs in more than 100 countries. Use the club list to find the closest one.
