Small groups, familiar faces and time to notice what each child is actually interested in today.

Family day care is an approved form of early childhood education and care delivered in a family home. It is a home-based care model with a smaller-scale setting, which may suit families looking for a more personal approach.

Who we are

Care that knows the child, not just the routine.

Inspired Kids Family Day Care offers children early education and care in smaller, welcoming environments through qualified family day care educators. Care takes place in a family-home environment, which is the main practical difference between the two approved models of early childhood education and care.

The home-based model creates opportunities for close relationships, individual attention and learning that grows naturally out of everyday life. Everyday routines can make room for children’s interests, curiosity and learning as they emerge, and an educator working with a small group over time comes to know the children well.

For families, it can also offer a more personal approach to care. Families can discuss the care hours they need, subject to educator availability and individual arrangements.

Our approach

We believe children thrive when they feel safe, known and free to explore.

Relationships come first

Familiar relationships can support children to feel secure and settled. Small groups can create more opportunity for responsive relationships and individual attention.

01 — Belonging

Learning inside the ordinary

Everyday play, routines, exploration and community experiences all carry early learning when there is time to let them unfold.

02 — Curiosity

A calm, home-like day

A family-home setting offers a smaller-scale environment with familiar spaces and opportunities for close relationships.

03 — Wellbeing

Out into the community

Regular visits to local parks and libraries give children space to move, explore and be part of the neighbourhood beyond the front door.

04 — Connection

The family day care model

A different model, not a ranking.

Family day care and centre-based care are both approved forms of early childhood education and care, and both are regulated under the same national system. Neither is automatically the right answer. What follows is simply what is different about the home-based model, so you can weigh it against what your family needs.

01

Smaller groups

Family day care operates with small groups of children. Smaller groups can create more opportunity for individual attention and responsive relationships.

02

Home-like environments

The day happens in a family home. For some children, that setting may feel calmer or more familiar.

03

Qualified educators

Care is delivered by qualified early childhood education and care educators working within approved family day care arrangements.

04

Flexible routines

Educator operating hours vary depending on the individual educator and each family’s care requirements, so there is often scope to shape care around how your week actually runs.

05

Community connection

Regular visits to local parks and libraries are part of the week. School pick-up and drop-off support may be available depending on the educator, school and agreed family arrangements.

The people behind the care

Our educators.

Our educators are qualified early childhood education and care professionals who provide care within approved family day care environments.

They support children’s learning, wellbeing, relationships and everyday experiences while working closely with families. Because each educator works with a small group, they get to know a child’s routine, moods and interests properly, and can share what the day actually looked like.

Educator operating hours vary. When you enquire, our team can talk through which arrangements may suit your family.
