Award-winning dancer Sri Lanka & Dubai

ManeeshaAmarasinghe

Five years on stage across Sri Lanka and Dubai. Cinematic performance, bespoke choreography and private coaching for people who want to move like they mean it.

The range

Three disciplines,
one body of work.

Most dancers pick a lane. Maneesha trained across all three, which is why a contemporary piece and a brand film come from the same rehearsal room.

  1. 01 Contemporary Floor work, weight and breath, built for a single light.
  2. 02 Classical Line and placement, the discipline everything else stands on.
  3. 03 Commercial Camera-ready routines choreographed to the lens, not the back row.

Two cities

Colombo builds it. Dubai books it.

Splitting the year between the two means a piece can be rehearsed at home and performed abroad without losing anything in the move.

The home floor

Where routines get written, counted and drilled. Classes, private coaching and every rehearsal that feeds a booking.

Recognition

The nights that get photographed.

One night in a gown, and behind it five years of rehearsal room hours, stage calls and routines that had to land first time.

Award-winning is a useful shorthand, but the part that matters to a producer is simpler. The work is repeatable. It survives a live audience, a camera crew and a run sheet that has already slipped by twenty minutes.

What Maneesha does

Performance, choreography and coaching.

Five ways to work together. Every one of them starts with a conversation about the room, the music and the people who will be watching.

How a booking works

Four steps, no surprises.

The same sequence whether it is a wedding entrance or a corporate opener. You always know what happens next and what it costs before anything is committed.

01

The brief

Date, venue, music and who is dancing. One short call is usually enough to price it.

02

Choreography

Written to your song, your floor space and the ability of everyone in it. Sent as a video first.

03

Rehearsals

In studio or on location, as many sessions as the piece needs. Counts, spacing, the lot.

04

Show day

On site early for a floor check and a run through, so the first time is not on the night.

The rehearsal room

Where it actually gets built.

Almost everything you see on a stage started here, in a dark room with a wooden floor, counted out again and again until it stops looking counted.

Sessions run one to one or in small groups, in studio or on location, and they are planned around the date you are working towards rather than a fixed term.
